If you have ever read or heard of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil you will not want to miss the Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil Book Tour which takes you to the locations the bestselling book is based on as well as the sites where the movie was shot. Included on the tour is a visit to the Bonaventure Cemetery, which is said to be the real garden, where you can visit character Danny Hansford’s grave.

This tour lasts about 3 hours, and is incredible from start to finish. There are only 14 people to a group so there is ample opportunity to ask questions along the way. If ghost tours are your “thing,” then this tour should make your short list of things to do while you are visiting the Savannah area.

Spooky Ghost Tours in Historic Savannah, Georgia

If you are up for a scare, take a 90-minute walking tour through Savannah while listening to popular ghost stories told by supernatural researchers.  The Ghosts of Savannah Tour travels at a leisurely pace through about 1.25 miles of the city that is said to be the most haunted in all of America.

savannah-historic-haunts-tour-by-trolley1Another walking tour that is offered is the Spirit Stroll and Pirate’s House Walking Ghost Tour.  This tour includes admission to the Pirate’s House which is home to many a ghoulish legend.  It was intended for visiting seamen but was frequented by pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas.  This tour is great fun for those who can handle the dark undertones and references to the dead, which is the whole point of a ghost tour, isn’t it?

There are several other options including the Ghostly Trolley Tour and the Savannah Scary Ghost Tour which stops at several known haunted locations, including the Morgue Tunnel and Colonial Park Cemetery.  A favorite of many is the Spirit Stroll, because the narration along the way is informative and, of course, spooky! Those interested in the occult will not want to miss out on the opportunity to take advantage of one of these tours, and it is best to book in advance to assure a space.
